Adamski is a venerated rave legend who has been at the top of his game since the late eighties. After a bidding war early on in his career, he signed to MCA Records and released squiggly acid piano shuffler ‘NRG’, and also achieved his childhood ambition of getting onto Top Of The Pops. He then put out the ‘Live & Direct’ album that cobbled together bits and bobs of live recordings from raves and later offered some instrumentals to Seal, who chose what turned out to be ‘Killer’ and with it created a No.1 in The UK in May 1990. Albums like Dr Adamski’s Musical Pharmacy and his third effort _‘Naughty’ followed and continued to keep him in demand around the world. As the 90s progressed, Adamski signed to Trevor Horn’s ZTT Records for his fourth album Adamski’s Thing, recorded at Adrian Sherwood’s On-U Sound studios.
At the end of the last century Adamski started to have a new career as DJ Adam Sky, touring around Europe, then moving to Barcelona, and making the odd UK appearance such as playing at seminal electroclash night Nag Nag Nag in London. Adam went on to release music on cult French electro label Kitsuné, something on Damian Lazarus’s hip Crosstown Rebels and things for Tiga’s Turbo and Exploited. He moved to Berlin, and in 2009 found his way back to the UK to start his Futurewaltz project, which finds him working in the ¾ Waltz time signature. It truly re-energised Adamski and has seen him ecruiting collaborators to the Futurewaltz project such as Lee “Scratch” Perry, Bam (Jungle Brothers), David McAlmont, Bishi, Congo Natty, Asia Argento, Rowdy SS as well as fresh artists like Shanki, Betty Adewole, Eloise X, Sirena, Harmony Boucher and more. With a limited edition vinyl box set released in early 2015 on Adamski’s own label FUTUREWALTZ, things continue to look rosy for this genuine dance legend.
