Location & Opening Times

Music First Festival takes place on the weekend of 26 & 27 May 2018 at:
The Oval, Bohemia Road, Hastings, East Sussex TN34 1ET.

Saturday 26th — Luv80s
Doors open at 12pm (Midday), Music and event ends at 11pm.

Sunday 27th — Summer Soul BBQ
Doors open at 12pm (Midday), Music and event ends 10pm.

Please allow plenty of time to get into the event, and for concert entry procedures, ticket checks and searches. We appreciate your cooperation and patience when entering the festival. 

Please note due to our licensing and insurance policies a no re-admission policy will be in effect for the duration of the weekend's festivities. Please ensure you have everything you need before entering.


Where To Stay

Music First Festival is NOT a camping festival. If you are looking to stay overnight after the festival there are numerous hotels, B&Bs and campsites that can be found near the festival location. Local, regional and national transport via bus and trains will be available when the Festival ends. Please check with train and bus operator timetables for more information.


Disabled Attendee Information

Personal Assistant Ticket (PA)
If a customer is unable to attend the festival without the support from a PA, then we will provide an additional PA ticket at no extra cost.

The PA ticket is provided on the expectation that your PA is willing and able to assist you throughout your visit, and would be available and able to help you in the event of an evacuation.

This ticket can only be approved by the Access Team. Please do not buy a ticket for your PA as this will not be refunded if they are approved.

When applying for your PA ticket, please email one of the following to info@musicfirstfestival.co.uk

  • DLA/PIP or equivalent 
  • Medical professionals letter 
  • D/deaf or blind registration 
  • Nimbus Access Card

It is mandatory to provide one of these forms of supporting documentation as evidence of your requirements. If you do not have the above evidence but feel you need assistance to access the festival, please contact us. Anyone turning up on the day without making prior arrangements may not be able to access our facilities. However, we will always try to accommodate any late requests.


Disabled Facilities at the Event

Disabled Toilets
Accessible disabled toilets will be situated around the site. All toilet locations will be noted in the site map.

Accessible viewing platforms
Our platforms have wheelchair accessible ramps. Viewing platforms have a very limited capacity and are strictly for Access Customers plus 1 PA only.

To book your place on the viewing platform you need to send your Access Requirements in writing to info@musicfirstfestival.co.uk


Age Restrictions

Music First Festival is not suitable for younger children. Children under 12 (aged 11 or below) are not permitted. Children of 12 years old and above must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (18 or over) at all times and will need to purchase a full-price ticket.


Identification

Entering the festival

Music First Festival operates a Challenge 25 policy. If you look under 25, we may ask you to prove your age. If you're under 18 attending with a parent / guardian, we may ask them to prove they're 18 or over.

The only accepted proof of age documents are:

  • A Passport (Not a photocopy) 
  • Driving Licence 
  • A Proof of Age Card bearing a PASS hologram 
  • A Ministry of Defence identity card 
  • A National identity card issued by an EU member state

Buying alcohol and tobacco

A challenge 25 policy will be in place for all alcohol and tobacco sales on site. If you look under 25, we will need ID from you or we will not sell you alcohol or tobacco.

Food & Drink

All your food and beverage requirements will be met by our team of amazing on site eateries and bars. Please don’t bring any alcohol or food or glass containers / bottles of any kind.


Bags Allowance

Large bags are not allowed to be taken into the festival. There are no cloakroom or storage facilities.

Small bags are allowed into the festival. Bags will be searched on entry to the event, therefore to avoid lengthy queues we strongly advise that you do not bring a bag.

If you do bring a small bag into the event, please keep it with you at all times. Do not leave any items at the site entrances or the surrounding areas. Any items left will be removed and disposed of accordingly.

You will also be searched at the entrance to the event which may include a full body pat down and/or use of hand held metal detectors. Any item(s), which may reasonably be considered for use as a weapon, or which may cause danger or disruption to any other persons at the event, will be confiscated.

Persons suspected of carrying items that may be used in an offensive or dangerous manner, or carrying out illegal activities within the arena or other parts of the site will be searched.


Drug use and legal highs

Do not bring illegal drugs or 'legal'/psychoactive substances to the festival. You will be ejected from the event and you may be handed over to the police.

The use of any gas canisters or nitrous oxide (NOs) is banned across our entire festival site. If found with them, or using them, you will be evicted from the site immediately 


Useful Information

Medication

If you need to bring medication with you, please bring a doctor’s note or a prescription for it if it's not easily recognisable. Please contact us via email at info@musicfirstfestival.co.uk should you need more advice or guidance. 

Effect Lighting

Smoke machines, strobe lights, and other effects may be in use at this event. Anyone affected by these should bear this in mind.


Temporary Impairments

Please note that our access customer facilities cannot cater to people with temporary impairments such as broken bones, recent injuries and pregnant women. The facilities are for the specific use of disabled access customers and we kindly ask that you please respect this.

Medical and welfare facilities are available to everyone.

There will be a sign posted medical tent located at the festival site.
