Security and Safety
Crowd Management Personnel are clearly identifiable by their tabards/shirts. They are briefed on all aspects of the event and are able to assist and give information.
Please note everyone attending the event may be required to undergo body and bag searches as a condition of entry. We reserve the right to refuse admittance to any person who refuses to be searched by a steward or other person acting on their behalf. Please be advised that you may have to queue upon entry so we ask that you are patient — these plans are in place to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable event

Anti Discrimination Policy
We don’t accept any discrimination towards any individual or groups of individuals at Music First Festival.
Irrespective of the background of the individual, be that gender, race, disability, age, religion or belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity. We are proud of the diverse nature of our festival and our customers, if you see or experience anyone undermining this - no matter the severity — please report it immediately to one of our onsite staff.
Staying Safe On-site

Festival stewards are here to help you. Don’t be worried about asking for help in any situation, whether it’s asking for directions or to report something or someone you’re worried about.
Personal Safety Tips
- Decide on a meeting point with your friends. Choose a time and place to meet up later in case you get separated from each other.
- Learn the layout of the site so you can easily find toilets and stewards
- Keep your phone charged in case you’re separated from your friends
- Stay hydrated.
- Keep your wits about you. Drink responsibly and know your limit.
The Medical Tent is open throughout the event and is staffed by experienced and supportive people. They can provide confidential advice about drugs, alcohol, legal highs and sexual health, and offer support if you need to talk. They offer a monitored rest and recovery area if you’ve overdone it. Please go to the Medical Tent if you experience any problems or need to talk to someone for any reason
What to do in an Emergency
For any emergencies, locate a member of staff, who will be able to assist or locate the correct assistance.
If you need to contact the Sussex Police to report a non-emergency crime or to provide information on a crime while at the festival, please call 101.
If a serious or life-threatening crime is being committed, please contact a member of staff or police officer immediately. If in the unlikely event you cannot find someone, please call 999.
What to Bring / Things to Remember
If you have purchased it online or from a local outlet. Without it, you will not be granted entry.
Bring ID if you look under 25 in order to be admitted to the festival. You will also need ID if you want to buy alcohol and look 25 or under
Clothes for any weather eventuality — Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, rainwear, warm clothing. To make sure you're not caught out by Mother Nature please check weather forecasts before you begin your journey.
Cash and / or Cards
Bring enough cash and / or your debit / credit cards. There are no ATMs on site, however all the bars and food concessions accept card payments as well as cash.
If you need to bring medication, we recommend bringing a doctor’s note or a prescription for it. Please be understanding if we question you about any medication you bring with you to the festival as it is important to prevent illegal drugs and so called 'legal highs' being brought into the festival site.
Remember to tell your friends of any allergies you have.
